Qualifications

• 3–8 years of production software engineering experience in robotics or related field.
• Experience in high-reliability environments, preferably regulatory regime.
• Proficient in C++ and Python with real-time performance considerations.
• Comfortable with Linux and Git, able to work in a team.
• Able to own discrete features end-to-end and deliver with validation.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to help design, build, and test the software behind our robotic magnetic navigation platform. You'll work across the core disciplines that make up our system: motion planning, robotics, perception, and infrastructure and systems software. This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who wants to grow their depth across multiple technical domains while working alongside our Principal engineers in each area.

Level and compensation for this role will be determined based on experience — candidates may be leveled as Engineer or Senior Engineer depending on years of experience and demonstrated scope of impact.

You Will

• Design, implement, and test production software in one or more of our core technical areas: motion planning, robotics, perception, or core software infrastructure
• Build and maintain unit and integration tests as part of a highly testable, modular software architecture
• Own the integration of your work into the broader system
• Support design decisions with engineering analysis, simulation, prototyping, and hands‑on testing
• Collaborate with systems and test engineers to define and review requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria; support risk analysis, design reviews, and root‑cause investigations
• Develop software following a rigorous process that combines modern high‑reliability practices with a regulatory V‑model framework
• Deepen your expertise in one or more specialty areas over time while building working familiarity with the rest of the software stack

You Are

• 3-8 years of production software engineering experience, with strong fundamentals in robotics, motion planning, robotics, perception, or systems and infrastructure software
• Experience with production software development in an environment with high reliability requirements, preferably under a regulatory regime
• Experience developing software for edge compute platforms
• Proficient in C++ and Python, with a firm grasp of real‑time performance considerations, memory management, and software design patterns
• Interested in working in a high‑reliability, safety‑critical environment; prior experience in a regulated industry is a plus but not required
• Able to take ownership of discrete features or modules and see them through from design to validation
• Comfortable with Linux and GIT
• A good collaborator who understands the importance of clear communication and humility
• Able to clearly convey complex tradeoffs to cross‑functional teams and external partners

Bonus Points

• Experience in the medical device industry, ideally with interventional or robotic systems
• Experience robotics, hardware, and/or real‑time control systems
• Familiarity with robotics development tools such as Drake, ROS, Moveit, RVIZ, Gazebo, and Isaac Sim
• Experience with computer vision, 3D sensing, or medical/domain-specific imaging (e.g., fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT/MRI)
• Experience with real‑time Linux or other real‑time operating systems (e.g., QNX), interprocess communications, or embedded systems
• Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, or cybersecurity
