Job summary

CIVCO Medical Solutions seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead our most visible programs from our Coralville facility. This role blends business, technical, regulatory, quality, and customer considerations, delivering clear leadership recommendations while mentoring others and improving execution.

Based in our production site in Coralville, IA, the position may offer flexible scheduling and partial telecommuting based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Led large or complex cross-functional projects with limited oversight.
• Strong knowledge of medical-device design controls, quality systems, regulatory considerations, verification and validation, risk management, and executive communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans, including scope, objectives, and timelines, and tailor approaches (waterfall, agile, hybrid).
• Organize and lead project team meetings with documented action items and timely completion.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and present mitigation options to leadership.
• Partner with internal teams to apply structured problem-solving to tasks and challenges.
• Forecast resources and budgets, framing opportunity costs and tradeoffs for leadership.
• Ensure design control activities comply with standards and company policies.
• Apply quality and change management processes consistently across responsibilities.
• Prepare and deliver clear status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage executive, customer, OEM, and cross-functional communication; resolve conflicts and guide decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead department-level process improvements and training.
