Cypress HCM in Irvine, CA, seeks a senior Control Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced control algorithms for life-saving medical technologies. You will work within the R&D Algorithm Development team on closed-loop control, real-time signal processing, and regulatory-compliant design controls.

The role requires deep expertise in control theory, MATLAB/Simulink, and C/C++ for embedded systems, with collaboration across BD, clinical, and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (or higher) with extensive experience in control systems.
• Master’s degree or PhD strongly preferred for advanced roles in algorithm development.
• Expert knowledge in control theory, system dynamics, and physiological signal interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead control algorithms for medical devices, including closed-loop and adaptive control.
• Create MATLAB/Simulink models to validate control strategies and improve performance.
• Collaborate with regulatory and BD teams to document design controls and support submissions.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide project teams on new technologies.
