Job summary

Metro Vein Centers is seeking a Senior Coding & Denials Specialist to investigate and resolve coding- and billing-related claim denials. The role combines expert medical coding with revenue-cycle and payer-policy analysis to prevent recurring denials.

Ideal candidates will have extensive ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS knowledge, experience with appeals, and strong analytical skills. Collaboration with clinicians and billing teams is essential to optimize reimbursement and ensure compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Strong understanding of CMS/payer documentation requirements
• Experience researching and resolving medical claims denials
• Experience preparing and submitting claim appeals/reconsiderations
• Experience with EOBs/ERAs and payer communications
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Investigate denials and determine root causes
• Assess documentation for billed services
• Identify issues affecting denials and payer policies
• Research CMS requirements and payer rules
• Develop and submit appeals or corrected claims
• Collaborate with providers and billing staff for needed documentation
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards and regulations
