Job summary

Novant Health Urgent Care in Columbia, SC seeks a Senior Certified Coding Auditor and Trainer to lead coding audits, educate staff, and oversee external vendor performance. You will perform chart audits, benchmark practices, and drive documentation improvements across urgent care and physical therapy encounters.

The role requires CPC/CCS-P/COC/CMC/RHIA/RHIT licensure, strong coding knowledge, and experience training revenue-cycle staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's in Medical Billing and Coding or related field.
• CPC/CCS-P/COC/CMC/RHIA/RHIT licensure required.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT-4/5 coding rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide data and reports to management on coding and claims for Urgent Care and Physical Therapy encounters.
• Educate medical and clinic staff on medical coding and documentation requirements.
• Oversee performance of external coding vendor and participate in monthly audits and reviews.
• Perform monthly chart audits and suggest provider documentation improvements.
• Benchmark provider coding practices quarterly and educate providers or vendors as needed.
