Qualifications

• 1 year of coding experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications listed in experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS).
• Assign MS-DRGs and/or APCs and ensure severity of illness and risk of mortality capture.
• Review complex documentation and resolve coding edits; manage multiple work queues.
• Mentor coding staff and collaborate with CDI and providers to ensure alignment of documentation and coding.
