Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Biller for a fully remote position available nationwide. The role supports physician billing and third-party AR, requiring experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and payer websites.

You will refine denials, file appeals, and maintain accurate EHR records while coordinating with the team during standard business hours. The Senior Biller will manage aging accounts, document activities, and provide guidance on payer requirements to improve cash flow and billing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of current experience in a health care billing and collections environment or similar health care setting using billing systems.
• 3+ years of experience utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• 3+ years researching and resolving complex insurance receivables, denials, underpayments, appeals, and aging accounts.
• 3+ years working with major third-party payers and payer websites.
• Proficiency with basic PC applications, internet research, and health care billing systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a significant inventory of insurance receivables, including aging, denied, and underpaid accounts.
• Research account history, eligibility, benefits, coding, authorization, and payer requirements to determine resolution.
• Refile corrected claims, prepare and submit appeals, and follow up through final resolution.
• Analyze EOBs, remittance activity, and patient balances to ensure accuracy.
• Initiate contact with payers, patients, and internal partners to resolve issues.
