Job summary

Providence Covenant Medical Group seeks a Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) to support licensed practitioners and deliver patient-centered care. You will perform tasks across MA I/II scopes and take initiative as a clinic leader.

The role emphasizes clinical skills such as obtaining vital signs, injections, and medication administration, while maintaining patient confidentiality in a fast-paced setting. Preferred is National Medical Assistant Certification on hire.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
  • Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
  • Two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant including vitals, injections, and meds administration.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • 2 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
  • 2 years of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment with confidential data.

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed practitioners under delegation to provide patient care.
  • Perform MA III duties across MA I/II scopes and take initiative as a clinic leader.
  • Mentor and support Medical Assistants; act as a resource and change agent.

Job description

The Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) is capable of performing all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) and Medical Assistant (MA II) roles. Additionally, the MA III proactively takes initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to clinic/location. Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion, and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance, and training as needed.

Required qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or
  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or
  • Coursework/Training: has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or Minimum 1 year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • 2 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
  • 2 years of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.
  • 6 months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years.

Preferred qualifications:

  • National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
