Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic or location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
• Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or
• Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes clinical skills such as obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration, or
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association, and 6 months healthcare experience, or
• 2 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting, and
• 2 years of experience providing high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion, and
• 6 months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
