Job summary

UPMC is hiring a full-time Senior Medical Assistant to support the Stull, Jarvis and Spinola Internal Medicine Associates practice located at Magee - Women's Hospital, Pittsburgh. The role involves extensive clinical duties, phlebotomy, EKGs, and interfacing with a diverse patient population within a large hospital system.

Expect Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm with 25%+ travel to assist other off-site locations.

Qualifications

• Experience as medical assistant in outpatient settings.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and EKG.
• Comply with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and preparing for exams.
• Take patient history and vitals per provider guidelines.
• Send/receive patient records in accordance with HIPAA.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic labs.
• Prepare and clean rooms and equipment between visits.
• Manage inventory and restock rooms.
• Schedule appointments and maintain charts.
