Job summary

UPMC is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support the Pittsburgh Internal Medicine (PIMA) - Castle Shannon team in Pittsburgh. The role includes patient flow management, vitals, phlebotomy, and front office duties under physician supervision.

Responsibilities

Check schedules and organizing patient flow.
Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
Collect patient information/history, taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.
Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance.
Comply with HIPAA and other state and federal regulations.
Prepare and clean patient, exam, and procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between visits.
Manage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms.
Schedule appointments and manage charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately.
Under supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate.
