Job summary

BJC Medical Group is seeking a full-time Senior Medical Assistant for Gastroenterology in O’Fallon, MO. This outpatient role offers a day shift with 40 hours per week and a $2,500 sign-on bonus eligible, with no call, no weekends, and no holidays.

Supports patient care under physician direction, performs vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and injections, and maintains accurate charting in the electronic health record. A strong emphasis on teamwork and adherence to protocol is required.

Qualifications

• Provides patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed professional.
• Performs duties to promote health and adheres to practice protocols and procedures.
• Serves as a role model in the practice, including lab testing, OSHA/CLIA compliance, EHR management, or cross-training.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains charting in the patient’s record.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing and injections.
• Triage calls, provides test results to patients and communicates with the provider using correct medical terminology.
• Assists the provider by preparing patients for exams, procedures and treatments.
