Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator II MA-C to support and coordinate clinic operations across multiple patient care services. The role requires independence in planning clerical duties, managing patient scheduling, insurance verifications, referrals, and maintaining medical records.

The position emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, empathy, and collaboration with patients, families, and teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of certified medical assistant program.
• Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 1 year of medical assistant experience in a healthcare setting required (i.e. physician’s office, scheduler, etc.)
• Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with emphasis in Health Care (preferred).
• Experience with Epic (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Schedule new patients and follow-up clinic appointments.
• Coordinate subsequent treatments and requested diagnostic tests.
• Obtain insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations.
• Prepare and maintain the patient's medical record.
• Reconcile billing issues.
• Answer multiple phone lines and triage phone calls.
• Act as a professional liaison with patients, families, and other departments.
