Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Senior Public Policy Analyst to monitor, evaluate, and provide recommendations on federal and state policy issues in support of the company’s business priorities. The role focuses on Medicaid policy development and communicating impacts to the organization.

The incumbent will conduct research, prepare position papers, briefings, and external communications, and collaborate with leadership to position CareFirst as a thought leader in health policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as listed or 4 extra years of relevant work experience in addition to required experience.
• 5 years of experience in health care policy environment focused on policy and communication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as policy expert on Medicaid and related legislative/regulatory developments.
• Develop external communications and policy briefings for internal audiences.
• Conduct legislative, regulatory, and policy research and analysis.
• Prepare position papers, testimony, and public comments for government bodies.
