Job summary

ThreatLocker is seeking a Senior Communications and Media Relations Manager to own the company’s earned media strategy and advise executives. You will develop and execute national media programs, position executives, and shape narratives in fast-moving news cycles.

The role requires deep media relationships, proactive storytelling, and collaboration with product, legal, and marketing teams to translate cybersecurity knowledge into compelling media narratives.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in media relations, public relations, strategic communications, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success securing meaningful earned coverage with major national outlets.
• Exceptional news judgment and ability to contribute to developing stories.
• Strong relationships with national media and ability to build new ones.
• Ability to develop and execute media strategies rather than just support plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute high-impact earned media strategies that support company priorities, executive positioning, and brand reputation.
• Leverage existing media relationships and build new ones to secure coverage and interviews across national outlets.
• Proactively pitch company news, thought leadership, and executive perspectives.
• Identify breaking news opportunities and rapidly craft messaging and outreach.
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, producers, and bookers.
• Prepare executives for interviews and provide strategy for media engagements.
• Collaborate with product, threat research, legal, and marketing teams to translate technical content into media narratives.
• Manage relationships with domestic and international PR agencies and ensure alignment with priorities.
