Job summary

HCLTech in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to maintain electromechanical systems, interpret blueprints, and assemble components. The role requires hands-on proficiency with tools, electrical assembly, and safety practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in assembly and testing of electromechanical systems.
• Mechanical assembly in test infrastructure with large rack assemblies.
• Electrical assembly for power distribution up to 110VAC and cabling for data acquisition.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and interpret assembly drawings.
• Ability to reverse engineer setups with limited documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem solving, documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep electromechanical system fleet ready after receiving inventory.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and orders to determine assembly methods.
• Assemble components using hand and power tools and fixtures.
• Install electrical/electronic parts in housings using soldering equipment.
• Build racks, cabinets, frames, and cable routing for power and data.
• Design, build and install safety interlocks and testing boundaries.
• Test electromechanical assemblies with oscilloscopes and meters.
• Design and build test fixtures for system testing.
• Follow safety and information security policies.
• Provide status updates to leads and stakeholders on progress and challenges.
• Attend training on new tools and help train staff.
• Report on time and support weekend work when required.
