  • Own the technical execution of complex mono-disciplinary and functional designs, ensuring performance, quality, manufacturability, reliability, and delivery objectives are achieved.
  • Translate product and project requirements into robust engineering solutions, including feasibility studies, concept development, architecture definition, detailed design, verification, and validation.
  • Identify technical risks, evaluate design alternatives, and drive resolution of complex engineering challenges throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines, MDUs, suppliers, architects, system engineers, and project stakeholders to realize integrated customer solutions.
  • Maintain subsystem and system-level awareness to ensure alignment of designs with architectural requirements, interfaces, and overall product performance objectives.
  • Drive verification, validation, integration, qualification, and performance testing activities, including the development of associated test methods and tools.
  • Support project planning activities through work package definition, effort estimation, performance budgeting, dependency management, and risk assessment.
  • Introduce and champion innovative technical approaches, engineering methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives within the area of expertise.
  • Document technical decisions, design specifications, analyses, assumptions, and test results to ensure complete and maintainable engineering documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor and guide engineers, perform technical reviews, and contribute to competency development within the organization.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to Delivery Team Leaders, System Engineers, Architects, and management on matters within the area of expertise.
  • Participate in technical communities and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen engineering capability across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with ASML quality, safety, and engineering standards while promoting safe working practices across projects and teams.
Education and experience
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, 5 years preferred.
  • Extensive experience developing complex engineering systems with demonstrated technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to technically lead development activities and influence engineering decisions across projects and disciplines.
  • Experience working with cross-functional development teams, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience in system integration, product qualification, and industrialization of complex engineering solutions.
Skills

  • Deep understanding of control theory, including feedback/feedforward control, stability analysis, disturbance rejection, system identification, and performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to own technically complex designs from requirements definition through concept development, detailed design, integration, qualification, and industrialization.
  • Experience developing and validating dynamic system models using MATLAB/Simulink or similar engineering tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes, evaluate technical trade-offs, and resolve complex system-level issues.
  • Broad understanding of system architecture, interface management, requirements engineering, and subsystem interactions within multidisciplinary products.
  • Experience with verification, validation, qualification, and performance testing of complex mechatronic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose system requirements into subsystem budgets and translate performance objectives into robust engineering solutions.
