Firefly Aerospace, based in north Austin, Texas, seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to own the hardware lifecycle for moving assemblies on a lunar mission. You will design, analyze, fabricate and test components, collaborating across disciplines to meet NASA/Space Force standards.

The role requires a B.S. in aerospace or mechanical engineering with 8+ years in aerospace and strong 3-D CAD (Siemens NX) plus proven FEA capability; MS preferred.

Formación

• B.S. degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of professional experience in aerospace or related mechanical engineering field.
• Strong design and integration skills with 3-D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred).
• Experience with FEA/FEM tools such as Nastran, ANSYS, FEMAP, etc.

Responsabilidades

• Own entire hardware lifecycle for all moving mechanical assemblies and structures.
• Develop and scrub requirements.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Conceptual design/analysis.
• Perform first-order strength and sizing calculations.
• Generate CAD, manufacturing drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Production implementation.
• Hardware development and qualification test definition.
• Demonstrate compliance with NASA/Space Force or other launch standards.
