Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Texas is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to own the hardware lifecycle for moving assemblies on a lunar mission. You will analyze, design, fabricate, and test components, collaborating with a skilled team to meet stringent NASA and DoD standards.

The ideal candidate has a BS in aerospace or mechanical engineering with 8+ years in aerospace, strong 3-D CAD skills (Siemens NX), and experience with FEA tools such as Nastran/ANSYS.

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with 8+ years of professional experience in aerospace or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware lifecycle for moving mechanical assemblies and structures on a mission to the Moon.
• Develop and scrub requirements; support trade studies.
• Generate CAD drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Production implementation and qualification testing.
• Ensure compliance with NASA/Space Force or other relevant standards.
