Job summary

Quaise Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Technician to support R&D by building, modifying, and maintaining prototype hardware for millimeter wave drilling technologies. You will work closely with scientists and engineers to prototype, test, troubleshoot, and refine laboratory systems and equipment.

Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, performing maintenance, coordinating with vendors, and helping ensure safe, efficient lab operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years in a mechanical technician role.
• Experience supporting prototype development and lab research.
• High school diploma or associate degree in relevant field.
• OSHA or safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fabricate, modify, and maintain prototype hardware.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on rapid prototyping.
• Perform laboratory testing, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Install and maintain laboratory equipment and test systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment installation.
• Maintain documentation of builds and testing.
• Support safe laboratory operations and field demos as needed.
