Job summary

K2 Space in Torrance, California is seeking a procurement leader to craft and execute hardware procurement strategies for mechanicals. You will serve as the supply chain SME to build a world-class function that drives cost, schedule, and quality targets across programs.

Responsibilities include cradle-to-grave supplier management, onboarding vendors, quoting and placing orders, and coordinating with engineering and quality teams to meet milestones and ship hardware on time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in supply chain management or engineering in aerospace
• 3+ years reading mechanical drawings and working with structures and mechanisms hardware
• 3+ years managing Bill of Materials for mechanical assemblies
• Experience managing mechanical suppliers in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of inventory management and how to store mechanical hardware
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment with engineering, production, and finance
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Must be able to lift and carry parts or equipment up to 25 lbs. unassisted

Responsibilities

• Define company-wide strategy for hardware in mechanical commodities sourced
• Lead cradle-to-grave supplier management, onboarding vendors, quoting, and orders
• Drive negotiations on contracts with key suppliers to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets
• Create robust supplier scorecards and metrics for consistent performance
• Develop partnerships with internal stakeholders to align on procurement strategy
• Execute and maintain high-quality purchasing transactions with MRP
• Establish strategic relationships with manufacturing companies and distributors
