Job summary

Astranis in Northern California is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive our vendor base to zero defects and scale satellite manufacturing at suppliers. You will lead supplier qualification, audits, and corrective actions while collaborating with internal teams and traveling to supplier sites.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 6+ years in manufacturing/quality/supply chain engineering, and a strong background in GD&T, mechanical and thermal processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
• 6+ years in manufacturing/quality/supply chain engineering.
• Background in GD&T, mechanical and thermal engineering and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Define product specifications – raw material, testing, inspection, GD&T/CMM, workmanship with Product Engineering.
• Establish and execute vendor qualification processes from audits to qualification builds.
• Lead DFM reviews and be main vendor manufacturing/quality contact.
• Establish phase gates at suppliers for NPI – CDR, MRR.
• Develop IQC procedures for thermal, EM assemblies, RF passives, metal components; review supplier documentation.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions with vendors and dispositions.
