Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent for our New Florence, MO project. This on-site role independently supervises trade contractors on work valued up to $30M, ensuring alignment with the project schedule and safety standards.

You will lead meetings, maintain daily reports, and coordinate logistics with the project team. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management and 4–8 years' experience in large commercial/industrial construction,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• 4-8 years of experience on $15-$30 million or larger commercial/industrial construction projects in a superintendent role.
• OSHA 30-hour certified.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.

Responsibilities

• Directs the day-to-day coordination of trade partners and sub-contractors to meet the approved project schedule.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding field changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to proactively anticipate potential problems.
• Participates in constructability review and identifies change impacts.
• Obtains or verifies that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field.
• Leads contractor meetings on a regular basis.
• Maintains daily reports and project documentation.
• Creates and updates the project schedule and contingency plans.
• Coordinates jobsite logistics and material scheduling.
• Oversees the project quality plan and inspections.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced Field Engineers.
• Assists in writing scopes of work and participates in buyout.
• Time and Materials tracking.
• Pre-task plan reviews and daily huddles.
• Supports an inclusive work environment.
• May assist with tasks for junior positions.
