Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Mechanical QA/QC Agent to lead quality control for mission-critical facilities across the region, ensuring testing plans and field work align with design documents and owner requirements.

The role demands 5+ years in mechanical service, familiarity with hyperscale environments, and strong knowledge of HVAC, IT systems, and building monitoring equipment. Travel up to 75% is expected with hybrid onsite/remote work options.

Qualifications

We are hiring for a Mechanical QA/QC Agent in the following states: Texas, Georgia, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Arizona. As part of our Mission Critical team, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

Why we need you:

In this role, you will be responsible for resolving quality control challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing quality control process delivery plans based on information outlined in the owner's project requirements, basis of design, design and construction documents, as well as information gathered from users and project partners, field surveys, specifications, shop drawings, and code research.

The expertise of our most successful Mechanical QA/QC Agent includes:

• Technical or associate degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, engineering, or construction management from an accredited technical institution, college, or commensurate design or field experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in mechanical service or mechanical equipment testing.
• A minimum of two (2) year in mission critical and a minimum of two (2) years in the hyperscale space.
• Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines, including HVAC, fire protection, technology, instrumentation and controls, and processes.
• Expertise in state-of-the-art critical systems, including building monitoring systems, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, RTUs, pumps, and fans.
• Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery of applicable equipment.
• Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models.
• Knowledge and understanding of electrical codes, standards, specifications, and shop drawings with the ability to interpret them.
• Proficiency in utilizing applicable technologies, including computer/software, data loggers, and test and measurement equipment.
• Valid driver's license and state-required vehicle insurance.

• Procore, CxAlloy, or BIM360 experience is a plus.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Perform periodic site walks to ensure adherence to procedures and best practices, including assisting general contractors and their site superintendents with inspections as required.
• Deliver a daily report detailing completed tasks or inspections and adeptly provide information regarding issues supported by codes or standards.
• Collaborate in a team environment, including carrying out appropriate follow-through with others, mentoring, delegating work, and giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Onsite expectation 100% if placed on a site within the region. When required on a site out of the region, travel of 75% will be expected. These will vary based on the site’s expectations. We strive to maintain a balance between onsite and work-from-home duties.
