Stratus Team LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Mechanical in New York, NY. The role leads a mechanical/HVAC design team on multifamily and mixed-use projects, ensuring design validity, code compliance, and client satisfaction.

You will coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and mentor junior staff. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience, NYC regulatory familiarity, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience designing mechanical/HVAC systems for diverse projects.
• Experience in New York City regulatory environments preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD for mentoring drafting tasks; energy modeling knowledge helpful.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with commercial awareness.
• Highly organized with ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design across multifamily, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Review site investigation data and ensure reports are clear and client-friendly.
• Oversee staff reports, calculations, design, and construction administration.
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, structural, life-safety, and PM teams.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to convey results.
• Mentor junior staff and drive adherence to codes and best practices.
