Job summary

CMTA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical, to lead hands-on design of mechanical systems across diverse projects, from healthcare to high-rise offices. The role involves client and contractor interaction, coordinating with project teams, and driving successful delivery.

The position emphasizes energy-efficient system design, compliance with codes, and use of AutoCAD and Revit for documentation, with opportunities to advance into leadership on larger projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; PE highly preferred.
• 5–9 years of experience in mechanical system design; field experience required.
• Knowledge of building codes and engineering drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Exercise judgment in applying standard design techniques on a variety of projects including hospitals, labs, and high-rise buildings.
• Select and specify HVAC equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air handlers, and fans.
• Assist in basis‑of‑design docs and responses; incorporate design changes using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform design load calculations and mechanical system design.
• Design energy‑efficient systems, perform COMCheck, and support LEED-related documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
