Job description

Description
  • This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams to develop mechanical physical layout drawings using 3-D modeling software.
  • Responsibilities include designing mechanical/structural systems, troubleshooting, and resolving various mechanical and structural issues.
  • Utilize 3D modeling tools to generate detailed design drawings.
  • Serve as the Mechanical/Structural Responsible Designer during detailed design phases, coordinating all aspects of the mechanical design model.
  • Guide and coordinate with other designers and project team members to ensure complete and timely delivery of designs.
  • Plan and execute design deliverables such as general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment layout drawings.
  • Opportunities may include conducting field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities.
  • Mentor less experienced drafters and designers to support their development.
Qualifications

Required skills and experience include:

  • An Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with 4+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
  • At least 18 years of detailed physical design experience in mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
  • Proficiency with 3D plant layout modeling software.
  • Experience reviewing mechanical equipment and coordinating related deliverables.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.

Valued but not required:

  • Proficiency with MicroStation.
