We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial team in Savannah (Pooler), GA, or Charlotte, NC. The role involves leading projects related to hydrocarbon storage and transportation, including natural gas, LNG, and liquid petroleum facilities. The team is also expanding into renewable energy and alternative fuels markets. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams providing engineering and design services to oil & gas clients, focusing on facility upgrades and new designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design mechanical systems including P&IDs, equipment sizing, and system calculations
  • Prepare specifications for equipment and designs
  • Conduct pipe stress analyses for process piping
  • Evaluate bids for equipment and contractors
  • Perform site inspections and provide support during installation, testing, and startup
  • Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual designs
  • Estimate project costs
  • Assist in client presentations and proposals
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and serve as mechanical lead on projects
  • Participate in schematic, design development, and site work sessions
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and scope
  • Support project management efforts and client relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including design and operational support of electrical generation stations
  • Experience with procurement and design specifications for new and upgraded equipment
  • Proficiency with AutoPipe, Caesar II, or similar software
  • Experience designing hydrocarbon facility mechanical systems
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Experience with feasibility studies for large hydrocarbon facilities
  • Knowledge of hydrocarbon mechanical equipment operation and testing
  • Previous consulting experience supporting heavy industrial clients
  • Ability to serve as Project Lead Engineer
  • Experience with NavisWorks, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, or similar
  • Experience with project management software like MS Project or Primavera is a plus
  • Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildings
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, AutoCAD
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Experience supporting heavy industrial clients in consulting firms
