Qualifications

Role: Senior Mechanical / Process Design Engineer - Industrial Process & Utility Systems

Locations: Fayetteville, Arkansas / Tulsa, Oklahoma

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of mechanical, process utility, piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems for industrial, manufacturing, and processing facilities. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of facility mechanical engineering experience, a Mechanical PE license, and strong expertise in industrial utility and process piping systems.

This role will lead design activities from concept through construction documentation, mentor junior engineers/designers, and coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and process utility design for industrial/manufacturing facilities, preferably food & beverage plants.
• Design utility/process piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Engineer systems including compressed air, steam/condensate, chilled water, hot/process water, wastewater, pumps, cooling towers, vacuum, and thermal fluids.
• Perform equipment sizing, engineering calculations, system layouts, and design evaluations.
• Develop/review AutoCAD 2D drawings and Revit 3D models.
• Lead design teams and mentor engineers/designers.
• Conduct site visits and field evaluations for new, retrofit, expansion, and facility upgrade projects.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, PMs, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Deliver projects within established schedule, budget, quality, and technical requirements.
• Contribute to design standards, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Active Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10-20 years of mechanical HVAC and piping design experience in industrial/manufacturing facilities.
• Strong expertise in utility piping, process piping, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Knowledge of ASME, USDA, FDA, OSHA, and ASHRAE standards/guidelines.
• Proficiency reviewing/preparing drawings, models, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong communication, coordination, organization, and client-service skills.

Preferred Experience

• Food & beverage manufacturing facility mechanical/process design.
• Industrial plant expansions, facility upgrades, and utility infrastructure.
• Sanitary/hygienic piping, clean-in-place (CIP), and regulated production environments.
• Multidisciplinary coordination with process, electrical, structural, and controls teams.
