We are hiring! We are looking for a Sr. Mechanical/ Piping Designer to support the development of 3D plant models, piping design, isometric drawing production, and AutoCAD work on PID's, 3D animation, and Revit interface. Our clients are requesting these engineering services on projects, and we need to be able to support them out of our Exton office.

This position could be a Hybrid or Remote work opportunity within the US or may be based in one of our Office locations throughout the US depending on the need.

The Senior Mechanical/ Piping Designer requires working on fast-paced technically complex design/build projects in the chemical, biotech, pharmaceutical, and food industries.

How will you contribute to the team?

1. Preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following.
2. Prepare designs for process piping and process equipment for manufacturing facilities.
3. Prepare PFDs and P&IDs under supervision of process engineer.
4. Layout complex piping systems and process equipment in a 3D environment including the preparation of isometric drawings with BOM.
5. Work with in-house resources or 3rd party firms that provide 3D scanning services and assist with the necessary point cloud conversions for use in 3D model development.
6. Select piping components.
7. Coordinate architectural requirements of process systems with architect.
8. Coordinate electrical requirements of process equipment with electrical engineer.
9. Review progress of construction in the field.
10. Participate in commissioning of systems.
11. Demonstrate success in designing, detailing, assembly, and layout of piping systems, equipment, and pipe support structural systems using 2D/3D design software.
12. Demonstrate a consistent track record of anticipating consequences of new designs in active iterations with the client.
13. Work autonomously and as part of a team.
14. Interface with clients, contractors, and co-workers.
15. Assume a mentoring role and interact well with team members from all offices.

What will you contribute?

1. Two-year degree in mechanical discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
2. Minimum 15 years' experience in a process consulting engineering firm.
3. Experience with retrofit projects is a plus.
4. Technical skills should include AutoCAD, Plant 3D, SP3D SmartPlant, AutoCAD PID, Navisworks, 3D Animation, MS Office, MS Project, BIM, Revit, and the ability to learn and use other design software as may be required.
5. Experience in the design of process support utilities in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries (USP, WFI, and clean steam) is a plus.
6. Time management and multi-tasking abilities.
7. Ability to meet deadlines in high-pressure environments.
8. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
9. Work Environment & Physical Demands:
10. Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates.
11. Travel to client sites required.

Expected compensation range is between $110,000 - $130,000 USD Annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
