In this role, you will have greater responsibility and will create system designs, details, and analysis under the supervision of the Engineering Manager for Packaging & Material Handling Systems. Qualified individuals will manage the assigned scope(s) of work within the project(s) as directed by the supervisor. You will possess the skills required to manage smaller project efforts with reduced guidance and support from Engineering Management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Use both 2D & 3D data to develop and/or supervise design concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings as required for project needs.
  • Review system designs & drawing deliverables to ensure adherence to quality standards and in accordance with industry & customer standards/specifications.
  • Work with other disciplines such as Structural, Process, and Automation to minimize deficiencies, interferences, errors and omissions.
  • Produce well-organized design documents of good accuracy, appearance, clarity, correctness, and adherence to design standards.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of design standards.
  • Direct efforts of interns and designers as needed.

To thrive in the role, you'll need:

  • High School degree plus a minimum of 8 years of experience in automated packaging or material handling systems, specifically: Design & installation of Food & Beverage transport, accumulation, and packaging systems.
  • Knowledge of various packaging and material handling systems.
  • Proficient with Inventor & AutoCAD, Development of Factory Assets & Revit.
  • Experience with 3D point Cloud data is a plus.
  • Outlook & Excel Skills are required.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
