Job summary

Stealth Startup is building a multi-megawatt, behind-the-meter turbine system for hyperscalers in the San Francisco Bay Area. This full-time on-site role turns a turbine core design into a fully packaged, factory-tested power block with close collaboration across turbomachinery, electrical and controls teams.

You will own the mechanical systems, piping, tooling, fixtures, and the documentation package that sets the standard for each unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years designing complex mechanical assemblies for rotating equipment or heavy industrial systems, released to production drawings.
• Hands-on design or qualification of at least one of: inlet cooling/conditioning, fuel gas skids, or lube oil/hydraulic systems.
• Strong CAD, GD&T and tolerance analysis in any major package.
• Drawings have been built, shipped and run.

Responsibilities

• Turn the first power generation unit from design into hardware.
• Package a proven aeroderivative gas turbine core into a complete, factory-tested power block.
• Own mechanical systems around the engine: supports, enclosure, air handling, and auxiliary piping.
• Produce CAD, lead design reviews for manufacturability, and release drawings for fabrication partners.
• Own the documentation package that becomes the standard for every unit.
• Spend time on the shop floor with partners and in our facility to fix first-build lessons.
• Help decide which parts we build ourselves and which we buy.
• Report to Head of Engineering and work with turbomachinery, electrical, and controls teams.
