Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation in Deer Park, TX is seeking a Chief Equipment Inspector to lead mechanical integrity and fixed equipment inspection programs across the site. You will serve as SME for inspection practices and oversee QA/QC, guiding inspectors and NDE technicians while collaborating with Operations and Reliability teams.

You will ensure compliance with PSM and industry standards, prioritize inspection activities, and drive safety, reliability, and productivity improvements on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Current API 510, API 570, and API 653 certifications.
• 10+ years of inspection, mechanical integrity, or fixed equipment experience in chemical/petrochemical environments.
• Detailed knowledge of mechanical damage mechanisms and fixed equipment inspection programs.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, API inspection codes, and related standards.
• Experience using inspection data management systems and work management systems.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in HSES programs and initiatives.
• Lead mechanical integrity inspection programs and compliance.
• Prioritize inspection activities and ensure timely completion.
• Review, approve, and monitor inspection findings and actions.
• Maintain compliance with mechanical integrity procedures, PSM, and standards.
• Provide technical oversight for fixed equipment inspection programs and reporting.
• Oversee inspection plans for TARs, capital projects, and new equipment.
• Serve as SME for inspection practices and QA/QC for fixed equipment.
• Direct inspectors and NDE technicians for quality and documentation.
• Maintain inspection records and data management systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Reliability, Construction, and contractors.
• Support incident investigations and reliability improvements.
