Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a mechanical/structural design engineer for the Terran R Avionics system. You will own the secondary structure design, packaging, analysis, test, and validation, including trays, brackets, thermal management, and environmental protection components, across cross-functional teams.

You will set design standards, review analyses and drawings, and drive architecture-level trade decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in full-cycle mechanical or structural design roles, taking hardware from concept through flight/production.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field with CAD experience.
• Strong background in structural/thermal analysis, including FEA methods.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical/structural design, packaging, analysis, test and validation of secondary structure in Terran R Avionics system ( trays, brackets, thermal management, protection).
• Provide technical direction across the secondary structure portfolio: set standards, review analyses and drawings, make architecture-level trade decisions balancing mission, producibility, schedule and cost.
• Drive cross-functional integration with Avionics, Fluids, Dynamics, Thermal, Structures, and Vehicle Integration teams; ensure delivery interfaces meet flight margins.
