Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a Mechanical/HVAC Construction Inspector to perform construction management and inspection services in the Pittsburgh, PA region. Projects include public housing, education, airports, and rail/transport projects, with focus on HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems.

The role requires 8 years of inspection experience, OSHA 30-hour training, a valid driver’s license, and strong knowledge of building codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 8 years of construction inspection experience.
• OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.

Responsibilities

• Read plans/specs and prepare contract administration reports.
• Ensure installations meet codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, and local codes.
• Identify and report potential extra work and coordinate with Resident Engineer/PM.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and startup of mechanical systems.
• Review contractor payments and provide comments to the Resident Engineer/PM.
• Coordinate corrective actions for defects and discrepancies.
