Job summary

STRIKE in Midland, TX seeks a Senior Mechanical Estimator to independently develop accurate estimates for piping, welding, equipment, and facility work. You will review bid documents, perform detailed takeoffs, and prepare comprehensive proposals, coordinating with internal teams to ensure pricing accuracy and execution alignment.

The role requires 5+ years in midstream estimating, strong reading of drawings, and experience with estimating software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years estimating experience in Midstream Oil & Gas.
• Proficient in P&IDs, isometrics, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with estimating software (InEight, HeavyBid, Navisworks, Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Develop complete and accurate mechanical estimates from drawings, specs, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed takeoffs for piping, welding, equipment, valves, and structural components.
• Analyze drawings for constructability issues, scope gaps, and quantity discrepancies.
• Prepare labor build-ups using production rates, crew compositions, and historical data.
• Utilize Supply Chain to solicit, evaluate, and normalize vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to assess site conditions and risks.
• Identify risks, exclusions, and prepare proposal clarifications.
• Coordinate with project teams to validate installation methods and labor assumptions.
