Job summary

CyberCoders in Oxford, MS is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator with 10+ years of experience to lead budgets, estimates, and bid proposals for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.

You will perform takeoffs, analyze labor, pricing, and materials, review drawings, and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate scope and risk assessment. Excellent knowledge of estimating tools is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical estimating experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems and costs.
• Proficient with estimating software such as Trimble Accubid, QuoteSoft, FastPIPE.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, specs, and BIM/VDC outputs.
• Analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with design-build, negotiated, and hard-bid projects.
• Proficient in Excel and digital takeoff tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and bid proposals for HVAC, plumbing, and piping scopes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, labor analysis, and equipment/material pricing using industry-standard estimating tools.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure complete and accurate scope coverage.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, constructability issues, and project risks during preconstruction.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope review sessions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field leadership during bid strategy and project turnover.
• Maintain organized documentation, historical cost data, and estimating databases.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.
