Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our remote preconstruction team. You will develop detailed estimates for HVAC, piping, and plumbing across large projects, collaborating with engineers and subs from home.

Strong experience and a solid portfolio are essential to shape competitive bids and win multimillion-dollar contracts. Expect a fully remote role with a focus on cost databases, value engineering, and client proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience estimating mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, piping).
• Strong portfolio of work demonstrating estimating capabilities.
• Proficiency with modern estimating tools such as Trimble AutoBid, ESTmep, FastPIPE/DUCT, Bluebeam and PlanSwift.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Trade School, Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop detailed and accurate mechanical estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimates for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors remotely to clarify scope, pricing, and scheduling.
• Develop comprehensive bid packages and client proposals.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Maintain up-to-date cost databases and historical pricing metrics.
• Provide value engineering options and cost-saving recommendations.
• Support strategic preconstruction efforts and client presentations.

Position Overview
