Job summary

MBC Talent Connections in Lexington, KY is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to guide engineers and designers on large-scale building system projects. The role currently oversees 2–3 direct reports with growth potential to lead up to 10 professionals.

You will design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature-control systems, manage budgets and schedules, and drive business development while maintaining strong client relationships from concept through completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE license with ability to obtain KY licensure within 6 months and reciprocity licenses.
• 15–20 years of experience designing mechanical building systems in a consulting environment.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature control systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
• Proven experience in marketing, sales, and business development.
• Solid client and project management background.
• LEED accreditation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Design mechanical building systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and controls.
• Plan resources, schedules, and oversee budgets.
• Drive business development, marketing, and client relationships.
• Manage client accounts and project delivery from concept to completion.
• Apply life-cycle costing analysis and HVAC modeling/simulation software.
