Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. is seeking engineers to support design, test, and construction efforts for LOS ANGELES, OHIO, SEAWOLF, VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA class submarines in a role emphasizing SUBSAFE compliance and safety certifications.

The position covers concept to installation of equipment, with responsibilities for audits, design reviews, and certification planning. Evening/weekend work and travel may be required; some remote work arrangements are available depending on project

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Marine Engineering is required.
5+ years of professional engineering experience.
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
Previous experience with submarine systems is preferred.
Previous experience with bolted connection design is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support design, test, and construction efforts for submarines.
Ensure all work complies with SUBSAFE requirements and regulations.
Perform internal audits and develop design review procedures and certification documents.
Assist in the concept, design, procurement, fabrication and installation of equipment for test vehicles.
Occasionally work nights or weekends; travel may be required.
