Job summary

Red 6 is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer – Analyst to lead detailed analyses of aerospace hardware for military platforms. You will drive structural, vibration, and thermal simulations, develop FE models in ANSYS, and ensure designs meet MIL‑STD and AS9100 standards.

The role requires a strong leadership background, extensive FEA/CAD experience, and the ability to work on on‑site projects in Louisville, CO with US citizenship. Candidate must be able to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years in stress and structural analysis for aerospace or military systems.
• Proficiency with FEA and CAD software; experience with MIL-STD-810 and related environmental tests.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Mechanical Analysis Engineers.
• Conduct detailed structural, vibration, and modal analyses of aerospace hardware.
• Perform shock and dynamic analyses, steady‑state and transient.
• Conduct CFD analyses for dynamic fluid flows.
• Develop and validate FE models using ANSYS Workbench; correlate with test data.
• Analyze electronic packaging and structural components for extreme conditions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver flight‑qualified hardware.
• Ensure compliance with MIL‑STD, AS9100, MMPDS standards.
• Support environmental test procedure development and testing oversight.
• Prepare design reviews, documentation, and technical reports.
