Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer for a heavy industrial steel operations environment. You will troubleshoot and optimize mechanical systems on the plant floor while developing specifications, coordinating contractors, and leading major projects from concept through completion.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in steelmaking or heavy industry, with experience in melting equipment, furnaces, and environmental systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in steelmaking or heavy industrial environments.
Experience with melting equipment, furnaces, or steelmaking operations is a strong plus.
Experience managing capital projects, equipment installations, budgets, and schedules.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, improve, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems throughout the facility.
Lead reliability and continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime, performance, and efficiency.
Support and manage melting and steelmaking equipment, including upgrades and installations.
Provide engineering expertise for large baghouse and environmental systems.
Lead capital and facility improvement projects from concept through completion.
Develop detailed project scopes, bid packages, cost estimates, and schedules.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and other teams.
Manage projects to budgets, schedules, safety requirements, and performance expectations.
Travel locally and internationally as needed.
Maintain safety compliance.
