Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, build, and test complex autonomous marine platforms and edge devices. You will develop mechanical assemblies, create CAD models, and validate against harsh marine environments.

You'll prototype rapidly, source components, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup. Experience in marine or aerospace hardware, and proficiency in CAD tools like Solidworks or NX, are required.

Qualifications

• Experience building complex systems from scratch, including autonomous platforms.
• Experience in marine, aerospace, robotics, or automotive hardware development.
• Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks, NX).
• Fabrication experience (machining, welding) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and fast-paced startup adaptability.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical assemblies and systems for a variety of applications.
• Generate initial concepts, CAD designs, and engineering drawings.
• Perform rapid sub-system and full-system prototyping, experimentation, and validation.
• Select and evaluate mechanical designs for reliability in harsh marine environments.
• Work with vendors and manufacturing partners to source and assemble mechanical assemblies and components.
• Support and participate in regular field testing and/or Government demonstrations.
