Job summary

MEA Energy in Madison, WI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, test, and troubleshoot innovative rotary electrical connectors for a global customer base. You will collaborate with engineers, sales, and manufacturing to meet unique industry and environment requirements.

Expect 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience, expert SolidWorks CAD, ability to develop prototypes and evaluate tolerances, and hands‑on involvement with production and ERP processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• SolidWorks CAD expert with 2D/3D capabilities.
• Prototype build and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with complex multi-part assemblies and tight tolerances.
• Experience with manufacturing, machine shop practices, tolerances, and production processes.
• Documentation control and revision history familiarity.
• GD&T knowledge.
• Basic electrical/mechanical integration knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test custom rotary electrical connectors from concept to production.
• Create test criteria and setups for prototypes and designs (mechanical/electrical).
• Develop work instructions for manufacturing and production teams.
• Using SolidWorks, create drawings to convey design intent and functionality.
• Collaborate with ERP processes and maintain project schedules.
