Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D Hardware Engineering team. You will contribute to conceptualization, prototyping, detailed design, and commercial release of complex electromechanical systems used in automated material handling.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in hands-on design, strong mechanical intuition, and experience with SolidWorks and FEA (SolidWorks Simulation or Ansys). Collaboration across EE/Controls, Manufacturing and Supply Chain is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on design experience.
• Experience with industrial robotics, automation, or material handling preferred.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks; familiarity with FEA tools.

Responsibilities

• Invent novel, reliable solutions for integrated hardware systems.
• Contribute to conception, prototyping, detailed design and validation of electromechanical systems using SolidWorks.
• Perform feasibility analyses and trade studies to optimize designs.
• Create BOMs and manage ECNs in PLM software (Siemens Teamcenter).
• Coordinate with cross-functional partners across EE/Controls, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead external design partners.
