Qualifications

• BSME or similar degree.
• 8 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with volume manufacturing processes (metal castings, injection molding, sheet metal stamping, etc.).
• Ownership of components through multiple launches.
• Proficiency with CAD/analysis/FEA tools for mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Design components and producing mechanical drawings for volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements.
• Design for manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost.
• Select and manage vendors in prototype phase.
• Create tooling, fixtures, and instructions with manufacturing.
• Perform component verification and product validation testing.
• Support production by troubleshooting process and component issues.
• Provide engineering support to Manufacturing and Service for design transfer.
• Develop mechanical assemblies with emphasis on safety and function.
• Iterate prototypes to meet requirements.
• Mentor and coach other engineers.
