Job summary

Ara is seeking a senior mechanical engineer for its Panama City, FL location to design, develop, prototype, and integrate complex mechanical systems. You will work hands-on across CAD, CFD, analysis, and hardware integration in a collaborative environment with travel to Newport, RI as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 8+ years of related experience, with strong communication and leadership skills. On-site with potential hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of related work experience; graduate degree may partially fulfill.
• Proven CAD/CFD modeling and design analysis experience.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance; active clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and analyze mechanical systems and components.
• Perform design evaluations on weapons systems and tolerances.
• Procure, assemble, and test prototypes to inform decisions.
• Present designs at design reviews and define hardware requirements.
• Ensure verification and validation demonstrate performance.
• Collaborate with fabrication, manufacturing and test teams.
