Job summary
Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) in Murphy, NC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team.
You will lead design and analysis of pressure vessels, piping, structures and related equipment, and coordinate technical work with project teams across energy sectors. The role emphasizes life assessment, fatigue/fracture mechanics, and mentoring engineers, with responsibility for delivering technical reports and client presentations while supporting project management
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Civil/Mechanical Eng with 3–4 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of ASME codes related to pressure equipment is a plus.
- Experience with SolidWorks, Abaqus, CAESAR II; piping stress analysis.
- Programming in Visual Basic, Python, or APDL is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication, MS Office proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate design life, perform root cause failure analysis on vessels and piping.
- Perform thermal and structural analysis using FEA.
- Compute fatigue, corrosion, crack growth for serviceability.
- Mentor junior engineers in stress analysis and life assessment.
- Prepare technical reports and client presentations.
- Support project managers on large-scale projects.
