Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineer (Mechanisms) for on-site work in Chantilly, VA. You will design, analyze, and qualify precision mechanical hardware used in mission systems and lead major components through integration and test.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 6+ years of related experience (or 4 years with graduate degree; 10 years in lieu of a degree).
• Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance required (active within last two years).
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, integrating, and testing complex mechanical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, analysis, prototype integration, and qualification testing for precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, technical data packages, and assembly documentation.
• Plan and execute component and system-level tests; analyze results and drive design improvements.
• Present designs and results at internal reviews, including PDRs and CDRs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, QA, sourcing, and test teams to transition designs into production.
