Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for the Citrus Combined Cycle Station. You will serve as the primary Mechanical System Owner, guiding reliability, lifecycle planning, outages and optimization to support safe, compliant operation.

The role requires extensive engineering experience, PE licensure, and the ability to lead complex investigations, develop maintenance strategies, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across Operations, Projects and OEMs.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; PE license.
Minimum 8 years of engineering experience and professional licensure.
Advanced engineering knowledge with independent problem solving and project lead ability.

Responsibilities

Serve as system owner for assigned mechanical systems with accountability for performance.
Monitor system health using data, PI trends, predictive maintenance results, inspections and history.
Lead outages, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and resolution of complex issues.
Develop maintenance, replacement, upgrade, OEM, obsolescence, and spare-parts strategies with prioritization.
Coordinate capital and O&M projects from business case through closeout.
Maintain drawings and equipment data; support Maximo-based work management.
Ensure safety, environmental, regulatory compliance; share lessons learned and provide guidance.
